With four children to put through college on a modest middle-class income, I have spent a good deal of time researching ideas to help pay for college. An early effort was to use a credit card that earned 529 college savings rewards (in lieu of things like airline miles).
More recently I have spent considerable time researching things like FAFSA, EFC, Sallie Mae and many other esoteric terms used in the financial aid process. As with taxes, investments, and most other complex financial affairs – I’ve learned first hand that what you don’t know really can hurt you!
